Kannagipura/ Kannagipuram
New radio drama named Kannagipura/ Kannagipuram lunched on 5th August 2009 by the young Asia television which has almost breaking the new ground with the series of drama. This innovative and action oriented and entertaining series of drama is available to both Tamil and Sinhala listeners in Sri Lanka on every Wednesday and Fridays on SLBC’s commercial, regional and national channels. A CD of the song Kannagipura/ Kannagipuram has also been released in local radio stations which coincide with the broadcast of the series.
The drama depicts the story of the frictional Eastern village of Kannagipura/ Kannagipuram wherein all the youth of the village takes a matter of bringing a desired change that they want to see into their community. It is the complete drama and action, both loving and conflict. And a complete package of entertaining and series of thought provoking as it truly explores the real living situations in Sri Lanka with current context.
This, Kannagipura/ Kannagipuram is the outcome of innovative script. The winners of script writing worked as professional team of the young Asia Television with a view of bringing the fresh ideas and all new episodes from insight the district of Sri Lanka. Also, the listeners groups have set up in 9 districts to provide the information and feedback about the local developments and the events.
The broadcast are generally on SLBC network of regional, commercial and national channels city FM, Kandurata FM, Wayamba Hand FM, Rajarata FM, tendral FM, Kothmale FM and Perai FM. This series of drama broadcast twice weekly. This, Kannagipura/ Kannagipuram primarily targets the youth of age group 19 and 29; Also, concentrating the other group of people such as semi urban and rural communities.
The drama series is truly wonderful to see as it all shows the real condition and not something which is made out of an imagination.
